I suppose things have always been
this way, but when I ponder the divisiveness within the professing-church I am reminded
of Josephus’s account of the siege of Jerusalem – even though a Roman army had
encircled the city, even though there was famine within the city – Jewish religious
factions were fighting each other – literally fighting each other, people were
dying – within the Temple precincts.
I wonder if we can learn anything
from this.
