If we do not see
the transcendent first, we will not see the temporal in its proper framework.
The earthly must be seen in the light of the heavenly, the temporal in light of
the eternal.
The tyranny of
the immediate, which is poisoning our souls, is clouding our vision – we desperately
need cataract surgery.
