I can understand
when people are afraid to witness. I cannot understand when people have no
desire to witness for Jesus, to tell others about Him. Nor can I understand
when there is no remorse when we don’t witness.
How is this
possible?
After all, Jesus
commands us to tell all people about Him. Jesus is the source of salvation, of
light and life and hope and joy. How can we not tell others about Him? How can
we not feel remorse when we don’t tell others?
Worst of all,
how dangerous it is when we justify our silence – for we place ourselves above
the Word of Jesus, the commands of Jesus. He commanded us to tell others and He
commanded us to love others as ourselves – when we don’t witness we reject His Word.
When we don’t witness, do we not reject Him?
To have the
Bread of Life and not offer it to others – to live in a world of famine and
drought and have Bread and Water and hoard it, to keep it to ourselves, how is
this possible? And to justify such behavior?
This tragedy
does not seem to bother us.
