I have always loved willows. When I was a young child in Maryland, there was a willow in our backyard. Our first home in Virginia had a willow. Our neighbors on both sides of us now have willows, and when we leave our community there is a willow on the other side of a pond we pass. There used to be two willows across the pond, but one was bent over during a storm and the property owner, rather than attempting to save the beautiful tree...cut it down.
The other day a young lady who was bagging my groceries had a name tag which said, "Willow." She brightened up when I called her by name and told her what a beautiful name she has.
Can we hear Him this morning?
He speaks
He speaks In the wind
He whispers in the willows
He warms me in the sunshine
He embraces me in the moonlight
He sings with the songbirds
He dances with the butterflies
He plays with the puppies
He laughs with the babies
He joins His tears with mine
He feels my every sorrow
He picks me up when I fall
He calls me by my name
His Name is Jesus
And His love is everlasting
His kindness overwhelming
And His heart beats for me…and you.
